We hear opportunity after opportunity. We hear tactics, strategies, and I got the way to make you rich. From life coaches to motivators, right down to your next door neighbor who has the next get rich quick method! They all seem to have the answer, but for me a lot of the answers did not work. As a bit of background, I have been into personal development since my dad gave me Think And Grow Rich when I was around 15.

I spent years learning and applying. I did all the gurus suggested and wondered why it would not work. Then at a seminar it hit me hard! Having an exercise to write your budget at you want it in the future was all easy. You see I knew what I wanted. Then something odd happed. The coach says write how your budget is today.

Well I did write my budget. Though I did it not so honestly, I still contained my shares are worth X amount, and included all the things which are hidden wealth (those things which are intellectual and though that’s where your wealth is, it is not liquid in a huge margin). The truth was - I wasn’t being honest to myself. So, when I went home, I really looked at it. How is it really? I found that it was at a position that needed bankruptcy.

At that point I realized that I needed to be in the now, not some other place. Not thinking positive, not thinking the best will come, not thinking about anything else then ‘how is it right now, really and truthfully’. Well, since that very illuminating moment, I have been on the up and up, and have achieved a lot of what I set to achieve.

* Lessons From 3 Types of People
Some choose to live and the past, while others live in the future. There is yet another that achieves, and it is one type of person who is in the few. The few that win however, may at some point in time been one of the other 2 types.

The worst that any person can do to damage there future, is to live in the past. Actions and results of the past have caused many people to live in a life of misery. Whether you past is full of success or failure, good times or bad times, it is not a place to dwell in.

Another type of person is the future person. Always looking to the future and thinking of lofty ideals. I was this person, always looking for tomorrow. Yes, you do need to look at the destination, and think about it. But, if you do for too long, you will not have time to take your eyes off the map, to make the journey!

Another person is the one who is here now. This person knows there past, where they intend to be in the future, and stay present in the now so they can take the actions.

* How To Get Grounded In The Present
You are here! Reading this, remember you are here. Not what you did before or what you will do after, but where you are now. This here is the present, and it is the greatest thing, as you can go in any direction you choose after this.

Your Self Image And Success

People want to make money, and get rich, happy, etc… Many people have not scratched the surface of success, so they simply don’t know that they must change to succeed. The biggest denominator that makes people succeed or fail is usually down to self image and values, and belief systems. Change the self image, change the results.

The self image is a crucial subject. Your self image determines who you think you are. For most materialistic people who have not looked at personally developing themselves do not realize that our beliefs determine our actions, and those actions will either take us to our goal or away from our goals.

Someone who is or has been on welfare, may have enjoyed the benefits of welfare, but has not realized the cost in self image. The doctor with a doctor self image will treat patients and get them well, whereas a doctor with a poor self image may soon find they are looking for other occupations!

This may seem hard to grasp, especially if you think that there is some precarious higher power that dishes out abundance to whom it pleases. God helps those who help themselves.

Your self image determines your values, and your actions. A doctor heals, whereas a soldier wants to save its own side’s people, and eliminate the enemy. I remember speaking to a friend recently. When giving him brief coaching to help him get more out of life, I realized that even though he wanted more success, his self image was one of being one of the crowd; not to rise, and not to move forward on goals because of fear of ridicule. This type of self image destroys dreams, and if the self image is not changed, then the results stay same as today and yesterday.

Imagine going to another country, your choice of destination for a vacation. Where you are now, and where that destination is, is a different place. It requires changes. If you imagine a city suburb, and that’s where you are, and your chosen destination is a tropical sunny place with great nature sceneries, then there must be changes! This is same with most people, change the self image, and change the result.

The key to change is awareness, and it begins with questions. Who am I? What am I? Who are my top 5 friends? What do I value most? Taking an inventory about yourself shows more about your self image.

The next step is to consider who you want to be? Look at role models, after all there must be someone who has achieved what you want to achieve. Take a look at what they do, how they do it. If you don’t have immediate access to this person, then find their biography or as much information about them. Modeling your role model is a great way to get yourself in a position to think and act as they do.

Modeling the best is a great way to achieve the success you want to achieve. Your self image is a crucial part of the process of change. If you have not achieved a result before, then it is going to require change. As your self image changes, your thoughts change, your actions change, and ultimately you get the results you want.

You Have Value In You

There is a breed of person – an entrepreneur. And all across the world entrepreneurs and business minded individuals bring to the world there dreams, desires, and ideas and turn them into reality.

There exist many in the world today, who seek instant success, a flash flood of money to make them rich today. We see lotteries generating billions in revenues from people seeking that instant rich injection! But, what many don’t realize is that most of the people who ever win the lottery, soon loose all the money and more.

What is the point of instant success? What is the point of not knowing how to generate a stream of income like a river, ever flowing? As you are reading this, I am sure you must have that entrepreneur bone inside you, that one that wants to create an adventure of a venture and have fun in the process of creating success and wealth, not just for today and tomorrow, but starting today, and reaping harvest over your whole life?

When you look at the wealthiest people in the world, you can see one thing and that is value. So many people would scratch for a buck or two, but wealthy people understand that you must give value. More value given creates more demand, which ultimately shows you a bottom line most people only dream of.

Value is the key to success in your enterprise. Your business can achieve great success, when you get clear on understanding your business, the processes and ultimately what people want.

Most people go to work giving same value as they get in monetary compensation, but as business minded individuals – value is a key to success, and it can be a key to your success, when you apply it. Top entrepreneurs and business people who achieve great success, aim to deliver 100’s of times of value then what they get paid for.

Looking at Microsoft we see great value. Imagine the PC without an operating system (windows, Linux, MacOS, etc…)? There would be a metal case and nothing that it could do. So Microsoft gives all people great value, as this machine can save time, and allow you to do so much. On your PC you could have all the books in the world. Imagine the space you save!

Now, Microsoft could have produced an operating system that provided everything, and create even more value. But, that would have stopped others getting rich off Microsoft Windows ability to be open to all (though there are limits, you can’t change Windows). This balance has enabled Microsoft to be at the head of the pack, and reap great riches due to great value.

Ask yourself ‘what can I do, to provide more value in what I do?’, ‘what do customers really want?’ Questions such as these help focus our minds on being value conscious. Many companies sell products at a higher value, because of perceived increases in value, such as better packaging. McDonalds shows you a big burger and pictures to create perceived value, and it works.

When you give value to customers, you can go further and give value to your staff, with such things as private health cover, pension schemes, share options, etc… When you give value to your staff, your customers, and associates, you ultimately see more success.
